Florine Elizabeth Liverman Johnson
Florine Elizabeth Liverman Johnson, 84, of Viroqua, WI and formerly of Roanoke Rapids, died Thursday, January 28, 2010.
Florine was born in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Lewis Thomas Liverman and Florence Shell Liverman. After graduating from high school, she married John Edward Johnson on February 24, 1946 in Roanoke Rapids. She was a wonderful military wife and best mom ever. Florine enjoyed traveling, crafting and sewing. She was active in church groups and choirs wherever the military led her. She was a former member of First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, John Edward Johnson; her daughter, Brenda Adams and her husband, Joe, all of Viroqua, WI; her son, Donald Johnson and his wife, Debbie, of Port Orange, FL; three grandchildren, Lisa C. Semrau and her husband, David, Timothy Scott Call and his wife, Emily, Emily Jo Irwin and her husband, Jason; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Cooper Semrau; her sister, Geraldine Jones of High Point; her sister-in-law, Ophelia Carr of Lanexa, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Askew Funeral & Cremation Services is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, February 4, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Chapel funeral services will be on Friday, February 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
